Revelation 12:5
And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron;  and her child was caught up unto God,  and to His throne.

The "manchild" is the 144,000.  It is during these judgments that they do what God has always wanted Israel to do--be evangelically minded.  They will replace what the church has also been ordained to do--win the world.  In Revelation 7, the 144,000 are sealed and protected.  In Revelation 14, they are in heaven rejoicing.  Revelation 12:5, explains how they got there, "AND HER CHILD WAS CAUGHT UP UNTO GOD, AND TO HIS THRONE."

The arguments of the identity of the woman and the manchild  would be less argued if people would read a book that the early church was very familiar, and John and his readers of this book knew well... the Prophecy of Ezra.

See  the interpretation of a vision in PROPHECY of EZRA 10:40-48:
40. Therefore, here is the meaning of the vision that you have seen.
41. You saw a woman that was grieving, and you began to comfort her.
42. Now you see the woman no more; and in her place, you see a city.
43. Whereas she told you of the death of her son, this is the answer:
44. This woman is Zion, and as she is now seen by you as a  city.
45. The thirty years the woman has been barren, is the thirty years that there has been no sacrifices going on in Jerusalem.
46.After thirty years, Solomon offered sacrifices, and that was as the birth of her son.
47. As she nourished her son, and raised him, this was the dwelling of Jerusalem.
48. The coming of her son to the marriage chamber, and dying - this is the destruction of Jerusalem.

"This woman" is a frequent symbol of Israel under the old covenant.
 Isaiah 54:1-6, Jeremiah 3:1-14, Hosea 2:14-23

The child of this woman is the fruit of the womb (Genesis 30:2). The "fruit" that God expected of Jerusalem was the sacrifices and worship to God. Just as in the Christian life, once saved, God expects worship from us.

For years, Israel failed, and was barren of this "fruit". Christians also fail.  They come into Christian life, and yet Bible study and worship is lacking.  Some just  worship as a matter of form. In Israel, they went through a form of worship, but did not "worship in spirit and in truth."

The  "son entered the wedding chamber" After bearing the child, the "fruit of this womb", should mature and also bear "fruit".

This is the maturing in the Christian life which brings one into a ministry  for God.  To worship and love God is supposed to result in a maturity of service.

John 14:15
"If you love Me, keep My commandments."

John 15:2
"Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit, He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit."

We should add to worship, the winning of souls, obedience to the commission of the Lord.

Matthew 28:19-20
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe whatsoever I have commanded you."

The manchild [Revelation 7:-18, 9:4, 12:5, 14:1-5], born to the woman in the book of Revelation, will be the third time a child is born to this woman spoken of in the Prophecy of Ezra.  The manchild  in Revelation is the 144,000 Jews who will be the missionaries of half of the tribulation. They will serve God, witness of the true Messiah, Jesus, and soon be raptured to enter into the bridal chamber  - that is, the New Jerusalem. They are sealed and protected for their ministry, so they do not die, as did this manchild in Ezra's vision.

 Israel, Jerusalem

those of Israel who are to worship and love God

the time when fruitfulness of the child is to begin, and service, obedience, and propagation should commence

At the first opportunity for Israel to have a son who was fruitful, there came death for the sins and failure to meet God's plan.

The second time, at the coming of Jesus, destruction had to come again because of the rejection of the One they were to accept and worship. Jerusalem and the temple were destroyed in 70 A.D.

The third attempt to unite the groom with the bride, and have a fruitful union, begins during the tribulation. The Temple will be rebuilt, worship will commence, a manchild will be born to the woman, this manchild will enter into the bridal chamber in Revelation 19-21.  This time will be successful for the nation of Israel will be repenting and accepting the true Messiah, Jesus.

Ezra's vision of the woman with the male child - explains why "woman" and "manchild" are used as types in Revelation chapter 12.  The whole revelation of God is like a puzzle, and piece by piece, it is put together.  Revelation, Daniel, Ezekiel, etc. each provided pieces.  Sometimes gaps appeared in the puzzle, and we have been confused about certain aspects of God's plan.  When the book of Enoch, and the Prophecy of Ezra are added to the revelation of the Bible, it should not contradict -  but rather, it should add some of the missing pieces so that the whole picture becomes clearer.

Isaiah 18:10
"For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line, here a little, and there a little."
