the vision in 2012 ?

Each year for some time now, the Lord has given me a ‘word’ about the coming new year. Last year the word was ‘grasp’ and as an acrostic, I felt the Lord was saying ‘five’ more words to prepare and give expectation of what He wanted to do in that year.

Shortly, I will share what the Lord is speaking to me concerning 2013, but first, I would like to review what the Lord said about 2012. We are currently entering the last month of this year, soon we will be to ‘New Year’s Eve’ and the world will shout, throw confetti, and some will enter it too drunk to remember their party after they sober up. We, as Christians, do not need alcohol to forget the sins of 2012, or be stoned mentally to get us to enter another year, not knowing what it holds. We have a Lord Who is wanting us to bless our current days, and give us hope for our future with Him.

Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,

saith the LORD,

thoughts of peace, and not of evil,

to give you an expected end.

God has thoughts and plans for us. He is thinking of all He wants to do for us, of His concern for us to have hope, peace and trust in His plan. What is that plan for us now? That is what I think the Lord gave me general guidelines concerning about 2012, and the acrostic of the word ‘grasp’ explained it to me. He wants us to have ‘an expected end’. He wants for us to know what is His general plan for us, and wants us to allow Him to lead us through the year, with all its events unfolding, and for us to see His plan in it all.

We have been through many events so far in 2012, and the nation right now is ‘holding its breath’ watching some final events unfold in this year. We, as Christians, are not to be affrighted, or scared, as we see events of the world transpire, for we have an ‘expected end’ that gives peace. We do not fear the ‘evil’ of the world, for we know that God is working mightily in our lives, and despite what transpires in this world, God is working out a plan in our lives.

As we grasp-ed and fed upon this truth, as we yielded to God seeking God’s will for our lives, we have found things that God wanted us to ‘GRASP’.

The previous year, 2011, God illustrated His plan for us to EMERGE into and out of many things. We all experienced many ‘emergings’ in 2011. Yet, this current year, we saw, and continue to see God set things before us to GRASP.

The measureless love of our Lord Jesus, brought us to a place, wherein He had blessings and benefits for us to GRASP. He gave us ‘expectation’ and He still plans to continue the work He has started in us.

Philippians 1:6 (KJV)

6 Being confident of this very thing,

that he which hath begun a good work in you

will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ

Grasp that truth, and acknowledge that the Lord is working in your life. If we do not realize that, much of God’s effort to aid you are lost. He is performing, trying to let you know what is going on in your walk with Him. He is not wanting a blind-folded, prisoner on this walk. God wants an informed, aware, and participating companion on the walk of this life.

The fruit of the Spirit in our lives has needed grasping. The promises He wants for you to claim need grasping. The work He wants done on our lives needs to be grasped.

We have had a choice of "in Whose GRASP to Be".

The devils have tried to grasp us, have tried to have us grasp wrong things. The devils and sin want to grasp us. Yet, God wants to ‘grasp’ us and wants us to grasp the gifts He has for us in our daily walk.

There is a danger in the acrostic word, of reading into it what we ‘want’ to see, instead of letting God work throughout the year reveal to us what He means with that word. The word EMERGE for 2011 had me hoping we would all ‘emerge’ in the rapture of the church, LOL. Yet, I knew that God was not wanting to just promise us a year to know that, but we were to emerge into many things, as part of preparing us for that rapture, of which we do not know the date.

The word ‘GRASP’ probably made some hope it would be the ‘lottery winnings’ we would grasp, or a ‘new car’, or whatever. God has His thoughts on more valuable things than those kinds of things. The Holy Spirit had much for each of us to grasp. They were often spiritual, and always far more valuable than the carnal things of life. If there were earthly things to grasp, they were to be used in the spiritual development of our walk with Jesus. His plans are far higher than our plans, and His aim is to ready us for heaven, to bless our ministry for our time here, to develop us for our work here and in heaven.

At times, we all fail to grasp what the Lord is saying. In the gospels, many times, Jesus made it clear, but the hearers did not have ears to hear.

Luke 18:34 (KJV)

34 And they understood none of these things:

and this saying was hid from them,

neither knew they the things which were spoken.

It is vital we GRASP His message, and to ‘GRASP’ the things we need to grasp. If this is the only truth this year that you have ‘grasped’, grasp this, that God has a plan, He wants you to understand more of it, He wants you to know He is ‘performing’ it in your life. Grasp that truth.

Hebrews 6:18-19 (KJV)

...we might have a strong consolation,

who have fled for refuge

to lay hold upon

the hope set before us:

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul,

both sure and stedfast...

We were to be taught to ‘lay hold upon’ the ‘hope set before us’.

The word ‘to lay hold upon’ is the Greek word ‘krat-eh-o’ meaning "to GRASP, to lay hand on, to take, to hold."

God instructed us to ‘GRASP THE VISION’,

even though we may need to fight for this vision.

We needed this year to ‘take’, i.e. ‘Grasp’ the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit...

Ephesians 6:17 (KJV)

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

The Greek word for ‘take’ is dek-o-mai’ meaning ‘to receive into one’s hand, to grasp.’ The ‘sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God’ needed to be grasped for this year

We think and aspire in God in visual ways. God gives us ‘vision’, a mental picture, of things He wants to do for us, to us, and through us. We get visions of ourselves doing ministries, of being representatives of God in this wicked world. We ‘GRASP’ the things that God wants for us to bring into our lives, to learn from Him, to inspire us. Our visions are not limited to spiritual matters. We have visions of what we want to accomplish career wise. Family and home life may requires some grasping of what we desire to see them to be. Our finances may need some grasping that would be pleasing to our Lord. Our life needs much grasping. God has plans for us, we need to see the vision of what God wants, and grasp those things.

Philippians 3:12-14 (KJV)

12 Not as though I had already attained,

either were already perfect:

but I follow after, if that I may apprehend

that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended:

but this one thing I do,

forgetting those things which are behind,

and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize

of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

God wants us to reach forth to grasp, and to press toward that we want to grasp. The prize, the vision, we should grasp is the ‘high calling’ of God.

2 Timothy 1:9 (KJV)

9 Who hath saved us,

and called us with an holy calling,

not according to our works,

but according to his own purpose and grace,

which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

In the coming days of December, I want to review the GRASP Acrostic, and the words it shows us concerning what God has wanted us to GRASP in 2012. It is time for a little examination of the year, before we look forward to 2013. I am currently working on 2013 in talks with the Lord, letting Him share some with me, which I will share with you, to evaluate, test, and try it with the Word of God.

Each letter of the word ‘GRASP’ has.

Ephesians 5:27

"That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish."

We must, in these last days, grow into the ministry, grasp what God wants us to claim in Him.

Revival is not a permanent blessing. It can be lost. It does not happen in a vacuum, but it occurs in an atmosphere of faith and eagerness.

Acts 2:42

"...they continued steadfastly..."

We should continue to grasp the revival that the Lord has for us.

God has a plan and an agenda for us, and we must hear from Him what it is and aspire to reach the goal He has for us. Grasp God’s vision for you.

I Peter 2:5,9

"...to offer up spiritual sacrifices... that ye should shew forth the praises of Him..."

God meant for us to learn to worship, then learn to work. Worship delights in the sheer glory of God. Worship revels in His Person, His Nature, and His being. Worship recognizes what He has done.

Acts 1:8

"...ye shall be witnesses unto Me..."

We cannot be "witness" without having witnessed a personal encounter with the One Whom we witness.

We will delve into some aspects again of these words, and get ourselves ready for what God has to say for 2013.

Stay tuned...

Did you GROW
so that you could GRASP?

The first letter of the word ‘GRASP’ is G, which I feel spoke of the fact that God wants us to ‘grow’ so that we can ‘grasp’ what He has for us to grasp. God has much for us to GRASP.

We were not to sit back, nor apathetic, in accepting what God has had for us to grasp. The manifest presence of God has been strong. There has been, continues now to be a very strong, powerful presence of the Lord for us to grasp, and we need to GROW into it. Whenever God's presence is near to you, He judges rebellion and blesses the yielded. When sin has been present, He judges it. As we GROW into this kind of time with the Lord, we can then grasp what He has for us, for His name’s sake.

God has been trying to purify us during this year, wanting us to grow up into Him, into a closer relationship with Him. The reason has been so we could grasp many things He has for us.

During this GRASPING time, the God of love again insists upon purity, holiness, and has wanted us to grow into that purity, holiness, faith, and relationship with Him.

In 2012, and now going into 2013, we see that sin is present in the world, with sinners ruling, the church being attacked, religious freedoms being robbed from us, jobs being scarce, finances being strained, but we grow in relationship with God, and we grasp blessings the world cannot take away.

I Timothy 4:1-2

"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils, ...speaking lies in hypocrisy."

In this year, there will be a special growing time, a purification, going on. Jesus has promised to soon return for His church, and He therefore is seeking a purity above any ever demanded by the Lord.

Ephesians 5:27

"That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish."

God is working to purify His church. He wants the "glory of God" in us, and the purity to be so great, that He can revive and bless us as never before. God wants us to be able to GRASP these blessings.

"Tares" will be soon removed from the "wheat" (before the harvest of the "wheat", which is the rapture of the church). These tares will be severed by a miraculous judgment of God in the time of the latter rain revival.

Matthew 13:49-50

"So shall it be at the end of the world (age), the angels shall come forth and sever (Greek = aphorizo = to separate from) the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire."

The judgment is pre-rapture, for the wicked are severed from amidst the believers. After the rapture, this would be unnecessary, for the believers will already be removed from this world. The Bible has often warned us of a judgment of the church.

I Peter 4:17-18

"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God, and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of those that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?"

Jesus wants a pure church when He comes to rapture it. He has wanted us to GROW so that we can GRASP the blessings and the relationship we are to have with Him for this last time period.

God has found the church to be far from that purity at the moment. The revival cannot even get progressing as He would like to see it progress, until this growth into purity is found.

II Timothy 3:1-14

"in the last days perilous times shall come..."

The perilous times are now present. We have had great need to GRASP the hand of the Lord, GRASP the provision that He has for us, and GRASP the VISION we have from God. The time was not to be ‘frightful’ to us, it has become a time of GRASPING His hand, and walking in victory with Him.

Jesus has been offering the VISION OF GROWTH.

We need to have GROWN into the saints that God wants to use. This year has been some of the ‘perilous times’ that Paul foretold are times when many people have a "form of godliness, but denying the power thereof." These "perilous times" has been hard, difficult, and we have definitely needed to grow into a time to GRASP from the Lord. There are hypocrites, troublemakers in most every church. The word "hypocrisy" comes from the Greek word - "hypokrinomai". This word means "to play a part in a play." God will not tolerate those that simply are play-acting. The hypocrites in every age are in trouble with God, but the ones now are in grave, perilous danger.

Whenever the presence of the Lord is near, as in that revival, God will judge sin as surely as He will fill the hungry. At the former rain revival, God's presence filled the upper room when they were all in one place, and in one accord. The Spirit descended, they were filled, and 3000 were saved. When God's presence filled the place where Ananias and Sapphira came to present their offering, and a lie was told, judgment caused two to die immediately.

As we have ‘grasped’ the vision, God’s presence has been present to overwhelm us, and we have GROWN.

Psalm 92:12 (KJV)

12 The righteous shall flourish like the

palm tree...

The tree of life was a kind of the palm tree with a special flowered fruit, according to ancient Jewish and rabbinical writings. The palm tree is a symbol of life and nourishment, esp. to a weary traveler in the desert. So the priesthood is to be a symbol of life and nourishment to the world.

The palm tree is the closest likeness of trees to the tree of life in the garden of Eden, and since then, has been used as a symbol of the priesthood of believers. In the New Testament period, we do not have a separate priesthood, as did the Hebrews of the Old Testament period. We, the saints of the Lord, are all in the priesthood now. We are to be like palm trees, GROWING in this dry world, but able to offer a place of shade and nourishment from the harsh world.

I Peter 1:9

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should shew forth the praises of Him Who hath called you out of darkness unto His marvelous light."

The Jews never fully accepted the calling and vision from God to GROW into this to be this "priesthood" of palm trees for the world. Most of them missed that calling. Most Christians have missed the true nature of their calling also. We are to be like palm trees to a dry and dying world. This takes GROWTH in the Lord.

Exodus 19:6

"And ye shall be unto Me, a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation..."

I Peter 2:5-9

"Ye also as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ."

Revelation 20:6

"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection; on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God, and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years."

It may take until they reach heaven for some to realize that they are part of a priesthood. In heaven, on the rapture day, all saints will finally acknowledge and know that they are part of a great priesthood. Yet, we have, GRASPed this VISION, and GROWN into the palm trees that the Lord wants us to be in this time.

Revelation 1:6, 5:10

"And hath made us kings and priests (literally 'a kingdom of priests') unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen". And hast made us unto our God kings and priests (literally 'a kingdom of priests'), and we shall reign on the earth."

A priest is one who ministers to God and man, a holy worshipper who gives glory to the Lord, and one who mediates between a holy God, and sinful mankind. As priests, or as palm trees, to this world, we grow into ones who give nourishment, quench spiritual thirst, of those in this dry world.

We are palm trees as we bring the Word of God to people, and bring such people to the Lord. As we conduct our private worship, we are palm trees. As we testify of Jesus, and represent God before the world, we are palm trees. As we intercede for the unsaved and backslidden, we are palm trees. As we lead others to the salvation in the Lord, we are palm trees. The Lord is seeking for such persons to stand in the gap for the sinful world. He is looking for those who recognize their palm tree ministry.

We should have, in 2012 GRASPed the vision of the palm tree and GROWN into the ministry the Lord has wanted for all of us to have. We will be doing this throughout eternity.

We were to have ministered to others in the wilderness we call this world. We should have grown into palm trees in this desert, and been a sign that water is nearby, a sign of hope, in a hopeless, wilderness. Have you GROWN into a palm tree pointing to the LIVING WATER?

GRASP... gReviveasp

The second letter in the word ‘GRASP’ is R,

and it stands for ‘revive’.

We were to GRASP much in this year. It was a year in which we grew into the palm trees of the priesthood, and can now grasp many blessings the Lord has for us.

Nehemiah 4:2 (KJV)

2 And he spake before his brethren

and the army of Samaria, and said,

What do these feeble Jews?

will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice?

will they make an end in a day?

will they revive the stones out of the heaps

of the rubbish which are burned?

The Jewish nation had been in slavery. Having returned, they began to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. The inhabitants of the land began to mock them. It looked like an impossible task. Yet, the stones were ‘revived’, were made useful again. The rubbish was removed, the trash of the years was taken off, and beneath that were the stones with which they could build the walls.

In 2012, there has been a plan the Lord, to rebuild, to bring back, to give us victory, and we have needed to rebuild the walls spiritually. The trash may be upon what the Lord wanted us to grasp, but it could all be removed.

Psalm 138:7 (KJV)

Though I walk in the midst of trouble,

Thou wilt revive me:

Did you grasp revival? Did you get the trash of your heart, your life, your ways, out of the way, so you could grasp what God wants for you. The process of removing the hindrances is revival. To what had you been clinging.

In the passage above, it seems that ‘pride’ had been in the way of what they wanted to grasp. Pride brought trouble, and needed to be removed.

Ephesus lost had a loss of ‘love’ that hindered their grasp. Revival for them meant restoration of the love. Even though that congregation had been born within the fires of Pentecostal revival, within a few years, it had lost its first love.

The congregation at Sardis had a reputation for being a live church, but it became spiritually dead. Sardis had let loss of spiritual life and exuberance of their faith be an encumbrance to them being able to grasp what God had for them.

The congregation at Laodicea became spiritually bankrupt, and Jesus stood outside that church waiting for an invitation. They had let earthly riches, keep them from grasping what they needed from Jesus.

The same can happens in our lives, and we need to revive, restore, remove encumbrances

It is easy to slack in prayer, Bible study, and faith, and then to try to follow a form. The moving of the Spirit cannot be created by any form, or emotional ranting. If we grasp that form, that tradition, we will be unable to grasp the real move of the Lord. An enemy of revival is the willingness to grasp form. Some are spectators, and watch others go through a form. We need to remove what keeps us from the reality of relationship with Jesus. Get rid of the hindrances of revival. Then we can grasp all that God has for us.

Some of the trash of our lives that needs removed to get revival, so that we can grasp what God wants for us are:

1. Ingratitude for God's blessings

2. Study and attention to other things rather than the Word of God

3. Unbelief

4. Neglecting prayer and intercession

5. Disunity

6. Exclusiveness, self centered living, lack of love and concern for others

7. Unchristian behavior

8. Worldly-mindedness

9. Pride

10. Censoriousness, or criticism of other saints, or spiritual leaders who may differ in some insignificant aspect

These things are trash upon a heart, and need removed, and that event is called ‘revival’. To be revived will allow us to grasp. Have you removed the trash hindering your ‘grasping’ ability? We should have been grasping what God has wanted for us.

Peter said to Jesus, ‘we have forsaken all and followed You." The disciples had left much to follow Jesus. Anna and Simeon could have been resting with the family in the comforts of home, but knew the Messiah would soon be carried in as a babe to the Temple.

In the observance of the Lord's supper we are told to "examine..." Have you examined your heart, your life, so that you can remove the hindrances to your grasping all God wants for you? This year was to be a year of ‘grasping’ and yet, you must revive in order to be able to grasp.

Did you GRASP in 2012?

In 2012, we needed to ASPIRE with mental decision to get more of what God has wanted for us.

God has commanded us to be ‘perfect’:

Matthew 5:48

"Be ye therefore perfect,

even as your Father in heaven is perfect."

"Perfect’, in the Greek, is telios, meaning "completeness, of full age, man, perfect."

We should have been growing up mentally and morally this year. Many Christians are not ‘grown up’. Some live sinfully, are apathetic. They can lie, abuse, hate, begrudge, and still call themselves "Christian", i.e. "Christ-like." They do not ASPIRE to any more growth than that. It is shameful and not what God wants for His redeemed to be.

God is ‘ashamed to be called their God.’ We need to strive for growth in morality, growth in mental completeness. We can make God unashamed, if we live as pleases our Lord, if we aspire.

Hebrews 11:15-16 (KJV)

15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath prepared for them a city.

In order to have grasped all that God has for us, we should have been ASPIRING toward being morally, ethically, mentally, Christ-like.

Aspiring to perfection has not led to any totally perfect ones. Christ alone has been the only perfect, righteous example. The striving for completeness in morality, in mental faith, has often degenerated into legalism, judgmentalism, and pride. Aspiring to make God unashamed of us will enable us to grasp things we did not even realize God wanted for us.

While ‘aspiring’ some of you became an intercessor, a person of the Word, a person who fasts, a person who has genuine Christian love, and a person who exercises the gifts of the Spirit. God has been taking care of all us us who have come to Him. God has an agenda for us, and we have found this year that He has been wanting to show us His plan for our development.

We should have found this year, that we daily need to get into the presence of the Lord. We have needed to never miss a day of prayer, but rather have regular times of daily prayer. We should have learned that we have needed daily repentance for failures. We have learned that ‘aspiring’ allowed us to grow from "glory to glory."

Colossians 1:28-29

"...we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. Whereunto I also labor, striving according to His working, which worketh in me mightily."

The Lord has been working this maturing process in us. It is our part to aspire to have Him mature us, and to yield to His working.

Romans 12:1-2

"I beseech ye therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present yourselves a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable, unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God."

If you wanted to GRASP all that God had for you, you had to
ACCEPT THE SEED blessings that God gave. God gave acorns to plant, not full grown oak trees. He gave us blessings in seed form. As we used the "seed" blessing, the Lord developed great things in us.

We should have
ACCEPTED THE FUTURE TARGET. We need a future target. Having a future goal, has given us happiness. The secret of happiness is having that future goal given by the Lord. We do not need our eyes upon the problems, which only brings self pity, thoughts of misery, depression, and we hinder the Spirit's work of giving us what we should grasp.

We have found that we can
BE POSITIVE, NOT NEGATIVE. Some talk of miracles, healings, and salvation, others talk of backsliding, sin, failings, judgment, and how hard it is to witness. When we ‘aspire’ we are more thinking of the positive, not the negative things.

Peter, Paul, and John faced greater trials than most of us have faced. If they would have pouted, complained, etc. do you think they would have had their books of such included in the New Testament? Imagine, if you will, the epistles of Paul, if he would have written of anger at God allowing him to suffer shipwreck, imprisonment, beatings, shunnings, misunderstandings, etc!

We cannot, should not have put our eyes on trials, problems, hypocritical church persons, while we have been aspiring to grasp all that God has for us.

We have
CEASED OUR DEMANDS. We must humble ourselves to suffer bitter attacks from others, and instead of demands, we instead have "let this same mind be in you, as was in Christ Jesus."

Then in our quest to GRASP, we
QUIT FEARING THE DEVIL. We are victorious in Christ Jesus, and we are on the winning side.

The writer of the book of Hebrews preached this same sermon in Hebrews 12:1-3:

"Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that doth so easily beset us. Let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith... consider Him ...lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds."

Laying aside the besetting weights, the sins that we aspired to not let hinder us, makes us able to grasp. We are and should have been always, in 2012, looking unto Jesus the "Author" (the Instigator of faith development), and He is the "Finisher" (the One who will complete the making us into perfect, powerful, and victorious saints). If we did not keep our eyes onto Jesus, we became "wearied" and began to "faint".

Did you ASPIRE, so that you could GRASP?

There was singing in Bethlehem, by the angels, when Jesus came in His first coming. They had joy in singing about Jesus’ first coming. Should not we have been singing about not just His first coming, but also about the nearness of His coming again. We will sing in heaven.

Revelation 14:3.

And they sung as it were a new song before the throne,

In heaven, there are ‘harpers’, musicians, singers, music. Music and singing is an integral part of heaven, and its worship of God. God loves music, and has provided instruments for us to use when we get there, to accompany our singing. Angels use instruments, sing and worship too. Singing was quite accepted and loved in Bible times. Have you made it a part of your life? Of your worship? Prophets in the Old Testament times, ministered in song before their prophetic words. Perhaps the words of the song were the prophetic words, for many of them are in poetic form.

Music is a vital part of true worship. God wants more worship, more instrumental praise, more words of His message put to worship and praise, and then comes blessings for us to GRASP.

David was a 'man after God's own heart", and his singing of the psalms was one of the main reasons he had so many blessings from God to grasp. The psalms are filled with the feelings and thoughts of God.

James 5:13

"Is any merry, let him sing psalms

(psallo, to play a stringed instrument,

to sing to the music of a harp)."

Have you been singing, even when you do not feel like it? Do you sing while in the prisons of life, while persecuted by the carnal of life, while weary of the work of life? We are instructed to do so, and anytime we have two or more people together to worship the Lord, we are in 'church'. We need to sing of Jesus, of King Jesus.

Colossians 3:16
"Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly,

in all wisdom, teaching

and admonishing one another in psalms,

and hymns and spiritual songs,

singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."

Psalms 100:4

"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,

and into His courts with praise."

I Thessalonians 5:18

"In everything give thanks

for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus,

concerning you."

Singing praises forces us to quit the ‘give me’s" and say "make me". When we are letting the Lord make us, we are able to GRASP His blessings for us.

Singing praises has purified our souls.

Proverbs 27:21

"As the refining pot for silver,

and the furnace for gold,

so is a man to his praise."

Do not wait for church services to continue your singing. In the car, in the home alone, in the shower, on a walk, etc... sing your praises to God. Paul and Silas did it in a prison, we ought to be able to do it anywhere.

Have you been grasping in 2012? If you missed the ‘singing, you missed some of what you could have grasped. It is not to late to give it a try!

Before we can proclaim, we need to have GRASPED some things. The GROWTH, REVIVING, ASPIRING, and SINGING of His praises brings a power to PROCLAIM.

Acts 1:8 (KJV)

8 But ye shall receive power,

after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:

and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem,

and in all Judaea, and in Samaria,

and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

We have been told to GRASP, and to do it by GROWING, REVIVING, ASPIRING, SINGING. Finally, now we have come to the time of PROCLAIMING. The first steps brought us to maturity, to restoration, to vision, and to joy. We have found much of what the Lord has wanted us to grasp in this year of 2012. God has helped to show us the direction. the means of our current journey, and we have received some revelation of our goals. Having GRASPED those, now we must PROCLAIM His message.

God manifests His power during the proclamation of His message.

When the early church was ordered to be silent, its leaders replied:

Acts 4:20

"We cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard."

We have an inescapable commitment and mission to proclaim.

Matthew 28:19

"Go ye therefore and teach all nations."

Mark 16:15

"Go ye into all the world

and preach the gospel to every creature."

Luke 24:47-48

"And that repentance and remission of sins

should be preached in His name among all nations...

and ye are witnesses of these things."

John 20:21

"As My Father hath sent Me,

so send I you..."

Acts 1:8

"And ye shall receive power

after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you...

ye shall be witnesses unto Me..."

IF we really believed that, we would be proclaiming it. IF Jesus is really Savior, Healer, Baptizer in the Spirit, and coming King, the world should be told. IF the gospel is really the power of God unto salvation, the sinners need to be so informed. IF our message is the ONLY key that will unlock the gate of heaven, to -fail to share it is criminal.

The basics of the message in the New Testament was, of course, Jesus. On the day of Pentecost, Peter quickly got to a detailed description of Jesus (Acts 2:1-36). When Philip went to Samaria, he "preached Christ unto them." (Acts 8:5). When Philip was taken to the Ethiopian eunuch, he "preached unto him Jesus" (Acts 8:35). With the name of Jesus, Paul opened his ministry (Acts 9:20,22,29). Peter took the name of Jesus to the Gentiles (Acts 10:36). With the name of Jesus, the book of Acts closed (Acts 28:31). The name of Jesus dominates everything during the former rain revival. In the book of Philippians, in 104 verses, the name of Jesus is found 47 times. The reason for revival, the reason for the Pentecostal experience, the reason for the church, is to be a proclaiming of Jesus.

Acts 1:8

"...ye shall be witnesses unto Me..."

II Corinthians 5:10-20

"For we must all appear

before the judgment seat of Christ,

that every one may receive the things done in the body,

according to that he hath done,

whether it be good or bad.

Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord,

we persuade men.

For the love of Christ constraineth us.

Therefore, if any man be in Christ,

he is a new creature.

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ."

We must witness because of the love of Christ, which constrains us to share the One Whom we already have found

II Corinthians 5:4

"...the love of Christ constraineth us."

When we got the correct message, and the right motive, and then proclaimed it, the signs and wonders followed, the GRASPING was easy. The grip of the devil was broken by the miraculous power of the Spirit, and we unleashed the power of God by our glorifying of Jesus. The power of the devil and of all his forces were no match for the power of a people who proclaim Jesus.

The proclaiming we have done in 2012, has been part of the GRASPING we are now doing. There are many things more to grasp, but we do it as we GROW, REVIVE, ASPIRE, SING, and finally, PROCLAIM.

Now, I suppose you wonder what the WORD for 2013 is !!! I have been talking with the Lord, getting some information I feel He wants to share with us for the coming year. He has a purpose and plan for us. I will tell you this year, there are several differences....

First, the Lord has given me two words, not just one.

Secondly, each letter does not stand for subsequent steps in God showing us something, but rather, the letter are the first letters of a sentence. The sentence gives us a message of the Lord’s plan for us in 2013...

so STAY TUNED ....
