WHAT POLITICAL AND NATIONAL EVENTS
ARE BEING OR SOON TO BE FULFILLED
IN PROPHECY?

IS the RAPTURE of the CHURCH
and the SECOND COMING of Jesus
SOON?

Part 4

THE BIBLE HAS MADE PLAIN THAT MANY ASTRONOMICAL  EVENTS ARE PART OF GOD’S REVELATION.

Luke 21:25-28
AND THERE SHALL BE SIGNS IN THE SUN, AND IN THE  MOON,  AND  IN THE  STARS; AND UPON THE EARTH DISTRESS OF NATIONS, WITH PERPLEXITY; THE SEA AND THE WAVES ROARING; MEN'S HEARTS FAILING THEM FOR  FEAR, AND FOR LOOKING AFTER THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE COMING ON THE  EARTH;  FOR THE POWERS OF HEAVEN SHALL BE SHAKEN. AND THEN SHALL  THEY SEE  THE SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY.  AND  WHEN THESE THINGS BEGIN TO COME TO PASS, THEN LOOK UP AND  LIFT UP  YOUR HEADS; FOR YOUR REDEMPTION DRAWETH NIGH.

Some astronomical events are so rare that people in one generation who have not seen, or even heard about them...are totally unaware of their possibility.  The Bible speaks of some mind-boggling events that have or will occur.  Some occurred millennia ago and  mankind has forgotten.  They can happen again and some will.

The Bible predicts some extraordinary events to soon occur.
  Luke 21:25-26
   Mark 13:24-25
    Isaiah 13:13
     Jeremiah 50:46
      Amos 8:8-9

In Noah's day, the whole climate changed, the year was shortened.  This ended the "greenhouse effect" that the earth had and resulted in the fall of the waters in the thermosphere.  This water, with the waters from the "deep" resulted in the flood and the  extinction of all who were not safe inside the ark.

In "The Book of Enoch", we are told that God used an astronomical event to cause the flood:
Enoch 65:1
"In those days, Noah saw that the earth had tilted, and that destruction was near."

In the  "Tractate Sanhedrin" of the Talmud it says:
Seven days before the deluge, the Holy One changed the primeval order and the sun rose in the west and sat in the east."

Thus, it is taught that the earth's tilt changed, and the earth actually turned over...resulting in the total change of the earth's climate.  Before the flood, the year was 364 days long.  After the flood, the year was 360 days long (until Isaiah's day).  What caused this to occur?  Did an asteroid strike the earth?  Whatever occurred--the earth had an abrupt change.

In the book of Joshua (10:12-13), we read where the rotation of the earth stopped for about 24 hours.  This is also recorded in the Mexican "Annals of Cuauhtitlan."  There it tells of a cosmic disturbance where the night lasted an extremely long time. (Since it was daytime for an extra long time where Joshua was, it had to be nighttime in Mexico for that same length of time. What did God use to cause the earth's rotation to stop?  Scientists have proven that the earth is 24 hours behind in its revolution about the sun also.  They have speculated on what cosmic events might have caused this to occur.

Amos predicted that God would send fire to devour Syria, Edom, Ammon, Moab, Philistia, and other countries. He also said that God would cause "great tumult" upon the mountains of Israel, houses would break and crack, unnatural darkness would occur, tidal waves would come, the sun would go down at noon, and men would hide in caves.  (1:14, 3:15, 6:11, 5:18-20, 5:8-9, 8:8-9, 9:2-3)  For this kind of prophecy, Amos was persecuted and killed.

Then a few years later, Isaiah began to prophesy.  He said a great "commotion" (raash) had occurred. That Hebrew word means "shaking, upheaval, undulation."  He said that the country was left desolate (1:7), cities were burned with fire (1:7), the hills had trembled (5:25), light had darkened during the day (5:30), men had hid in caves (2:19), waters had flooded the land (10:26), and their had been a loud noise (13:4).  The events prophesied by Amos had been fulfilled. It was at this same time that suddenly calendars in the various parts of the world were changed to a 365 1/4 day year instead of the 360 day year.  What event caused the orbit of the earth to change? ? ?

These events and others have occurred already.  But more are soon to occur.

Notice what Isaiah prophesied for the last days.
Isaiah 13:13
"Therefore, I will shake  the  heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of Hosts, and in the day of His fierce anger."

Also, during the tribulation, the Bible predicts meteorites that are the size of mountains striking the earth.
Revelation 8:8-10 (KJV)
8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

Enoch's book (quoted by Jude [14-15], and mentioned often in the early church) says:
"In the last days, during the judgment time, the year will be shortened, and the seasons will be affected, drought will afflict the earth." (80:2)
"The moon will change its customary practice, it will not show its light as before." (80:4)

This is what Jesus was speaking of when He said:
Luke 21:25-26
"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring.  Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking  at those things which are coming upon the earth: for the powers of Heaven will be shaken."

These astronomical events will cause the year to be shortened. We are told that the tribulation will be 7 years long, two periods of 1260 days.  That is 2520 days--divided by  7--equals a 360 day year.

Daniel tells us that God is the One who "changes the times and the seasons."

Daniel 2:21-22 (KJV)
 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:  He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
Some astronomical event will cause these changes. Enoch gives us a clue:
In those days the moon will give off more than normal brightness for a time, because of a new heavenly object  that shall appear below it as it sets one night.  Many stars shall seem to have altered their positions because of a change in the earth's orbit.  (80:5-7)

Fear is an all-consuming thought pattern.  It is the natural consequence of these mind-boggling astronomical events that will soon transpire.  When meteors, asteroids, etc. are seen heading for the earth, strike the earth with the force of many atomic bombs, or even just whisk by the earth--causing orbit changes, year length changes, death, destruction, pollution, etc.--great fear will consume the minds of many.

Luke 21:25-28
"Men's hearts (minds) failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the  earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken."

God is  to be feared, but not by we, the Christians.  We are to "look up" for our "redemption  draweth nigh" when these things are "beginning to come to pass."

II Timothy 1:7
GOD HATH NOT GIVEN US A SPIRIT OF FEAR, BUT OF POWER, AND OF LOVE, AND OF A SOUND MIND.

I JOHN 4:17
HAVE BOLDNESS IN THE DAY OF JUDGMENT.

"Fear not." is found over 80 times in the Bible. Fear is growing in these days.  There are many phobias:
  claustrophobia =  fear of closed places
  hydrophobia =  fear of water
  acrophobia   =  fear of heights
  optophobia  =  fear of closing ones eyes
  gamophobia =  fear of marriage
  bathophobia =  fear of depths
  ombrophobia =  fear of rain
  agorophobia =  fear of outdoors
  nyctophobia =  fear of night
  thantophobia =  fear of death
 even-pantophobia =  fear of fear

Psychiatrists have identified more than 700 phobias.  But even with the events about to transpire...we should resist fear...by looking up for our Savior, Jesus Christ.  He will rapture (harpadzo=catch up out of harm's way.

Again, let me remind you of this passage:
Luke 21:28
"...WHEN THESE THINGS BEGIN TO COME TO PASS, THEN LOOK UP, AND LIFT UP YOUR HEADS, FOR YOUR REDEMPTION DRAWETH NIGH."
