Zombies are the devil’s biggest pipe dream, and a lying doctrine.
What is a ‘zombie”?  The word ‘zombie’ comes from the Haitian French ‘zombi’, and the Haitian Creole ‘zonbi’.  Traditionally, it refers to fictional undead beings reanimated from a human corpse.

The source of the concept is debated.  Some say it comes from Haitian folklore where magic or witchcraft resurrected a dead person who was then a mostly mindless being enslaved to an owner.  Voodoo methods were employed in the workings of Haitian zombies.

Others think the idea came from West African words nzambi (god) and zumbi (fetish).  So the idea and concept really predates any Haitian origin.

We can find that concept of wicked dead being resurrected to continue the wicked bidding of a live person as far back as writings of the ancient goddess Ishtar, and the same person called Asherah by the post flood Babylonians.

She is supposed to have uttered words to the effect “I shall raise up the dead, and they shall eat the living, and the dead shall outnumber the living.” (See -The Epic of Gilgamesh)

The true origination of the zombi idea is the devil, Lucifer.  He is angry that his plan to kill Jesus resulted in a resurrection that meant that someday, all that accept Jesus as Savior can know of certainty that they will be resurrected and join the armies that return from heaven at Jesus’ second coming and utterly defeat the devil.

The sin of necromancy and worse are involve in the trifling of accepting or participating in the zombie farce of the devil.  The supposed zombies are considered under the control of its master, to do the evil bidding, having no will of their own.  That is a ‘dream’ of the devil to remove the will of humans to choose Jesus and true resurrection life.  It is his pipe dream.

Originally in Haiti, the slave drivers on the plantations used the fear of zombification to discourage the slaves from committing suicide, with the fear of eternal slavery and mindless acceptance of a master’s will.

Resurrection into being a zombie, is a far cry from the resurrection that is given to us by Jesus.
The resurrection day for Christians is comfort, and challenge. Some call it a hoax, fraud, or even blasphemy. Some want to skirt the issue. The devil knows it is truth, and the facts of the resurrection mean his eternal defeat.

I Corinthians 15:14-15
“And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching in vain, and your faith is also in vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ; Whom He raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.”

We cannot believe it without it changing us. If  died and rose again, He conquered sin and death. The devil wants to counterfeit and produce a resurrection of his evil cohorts, and have an army of resurrected, empowered beings able to battle and defeat the soon to be raptured and resurrected saints of God.
Talleyrand, a statesman in France, asked one of the kings of France,
how he could start a new religion like Christianity. He was told, it would be ‘simple’... simply be crucified, and rise from the dead on the third day. Well, I do not agree it would be that simple, for Lazarus was raised from the dead on the fourth day, but the resurrection of Jesus is unique in history. Many religions have martyrs, only Christianity has a great Redeemer Who died, has risen again, has ascended to heaven to intercede for us at the Father’s right hand, and has sent the Holy Spirit back to earth to empower us to do the same miracles and works as did Jesus when He was here. Jesus still lives, in the glorified body that He was given at the resurrection. Now all that have accepted His death as their own, are certain of a resurrection, and will have an eternal body, far more powerful than the devil can even dream of offering evil sinners. Christianity is unique, and the pipe dream of the devil to create a resurrection of evil sinners, is certainly impossible.

If Christ had not risen from the dead, we would have a miserable religion.  If Christ had not risen, the devil would have a chance of defeating us.  Yet, He did rise, and our soon resurrection will come in time to not just scare the devil, but defeat him.

I Corinthians 15:12-19
“...if Christ be not risen, then our preaching is vain and your faith is also vain... Ye are yet in your sins... then they which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope, we are of all men most miserable.”
So, Jesus’ resurrection, gives us hope, joy, expectancy and faith. We can be assured that we will be resurrected or raptured, due to the fact of His resurrection. Many religions point to the tomb of their dead founder. We, in Christianity, cannot, for the tomb is empty, the Savior Lives. Hallelujah!!!

Christ proved Himself to be the Son of God by His resurrection.

Romans 1:4
“And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the
Spirit of holiness by the resurrection of the dead.”

The resurrection of Jesus proves a resurrection is coming for believers. Christ’s resurrection guarantees ours.

I Thessalonians 4:14
“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also who sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.”

The dead in Christ, go to heaven when they die, but their bodies are put into the ground. Just as Jesus told the thief on the cross, that the same day, they would be together in paradise, yet their bodies were not together, but still in tombs of the earth, but their spirits were in paradise together. So, the dead in Christ, are with the Lord, but their bodies await a resurrection, in which they will be transformed into a glorified, eternal body. This resurrection will occur at the same time as the rapture of the church. The Lord will be coming to the clouds to call the saints bodies to rise, to escape (harpadzo) from the harms of God’s wrath about to fall upon the earth.  The saints’ spirits will be with the Lord when He comes. Their bodies will rise first, a microsecond before the rapture. Then we who are alive and remain at that time, will be raptured to the clouds.

The devil hates these resurrection truths.  So, he has tried to convince the world that an army of evil resurrected dead people are going to (as recent films and their sequels claim) eat human flesh, consume the brains of the good people, and we all should be terrified of his pipe dreams.

The fear of death is not a doctrine the Bible ever taught.  We are commanded to anticipate our heavenly home going, an know that the body we leave behind will certainly be resurrected in righteousness, and rule an reign with Jesus.

The devil, with his zombie fiction stories wants to instill fear of death, fear of resurrection power in the hands of evil and voodoo.  Why do we tolerate the propagation of his fear producing fictional stories.  The devil wants us to believe that he can resurrect evil cohorts to terrify the world.  He uses that tactic and other tactics to try to make us accept the false doctrine that death is to be feared.  We Christians should know it is the righteous saints that are resurrected, not evil tormenters of fear.
