WHY DO WE WAIT AND WAIT
FOR GOD TO DO THE MIRACLE WE DESIRE?
Needing to ‘wait’ for God to work His miracles is not a sign of lack of faith, it is a key part of faith.
We need to abound in patience, we need to cease being so hurried to receive, and realize the best part of the receiving is the learning we do as we await the suffering to end.
2 Thessalonians 1:3-5 (KJV)
We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
We do suffer awhile, we do need to await the time of victory. It is a ‘manifest token’ of God’s plan for us. The word for ‘manifest token’ is the ‘. word ‘en-deig-ma’ meaning ‘a concrete indication.’ We know we are really and truly living in faith of our Lord, when we can unhurriedly, patiently await the answer to our sufferings to come.
Jesus learned by the things He suffered. He learned by and through those ‘sufferings’. Obedience was learned, even by our Lord, by sufferings. Yet, we find many today, who want to skip the sufferings, want to bypass the troubles of life. We cannot be matured, we cannot grow in the faith, if all troubles immediately are removed.
Hebrews 5:8-9 (KJV)
Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; And being made perfect, He became the Author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him;
